You can do more than just the vanilla...
You can edit the screens that get generated in :Environment -> Modification ->Maintenance Screens - from there you can manipulate the screen field contents, in the same way for a screen you'd built yourself.
2/ Environment -> Modification -> Events. Events numbered 01-05 get hit by the processing of the screen, allowing you to do cool stuff like data validation, kick off workflows, errr... other stuff.
